The boutique is one of Australias leading fashion stores dealing with the latest dresses, shoes, tops, and much more. Communication method The communication method used by the sales assistant was unfriendly. The sales assistant lacked interpersonal skills and solid communication. Her body language also communicated to me that she was not willing to help. She looked bored and uninterested. She should have been more confident and cheerful. The problem It is often expected that people need to browse or window shop prior to making any purchase decision. In fact, most business owners see this as recommendable and acceptable (Rawson, Duncan Jones, 2013). After all, the purchase journey is a long process which requires the buyers to gather the relevant inspiration and data before spending their hard-earned cash. Consequently, that is why shops exist, to showcase services and products to the customers and increase profits in the long run (Zhao, Lu, Zhang Chau, 2012). However, a staff member at XYZ boutique had a different opinion on this subject. In fact, I was offered a not quite apologetic response upon raising a complaint. This is how the scenario unfolded; I was searching for a classic and fashionable outfit for an upcoming event. Given the importance of the event, my dressing had to be on point. Therefore, I decided to take a look at what XYZ had to offer since a friend had previously recommended the store. Initially, the staff was friendly and willing to offer assistance. Additionally, the response indicated that I was indeed an idler who had no intention of purchasing and suggested that there are other shops that would appease my taste. On the other side, good customer service is competency, personalization, convenience, and responsiveness. This was not the case at XYZ boutique. The sales assistant was quick to judge, incompetent, and unresponsive. Statistics show that 90% of customers are willing to pay more in order to get the desired customer service (Kumar et al, 2014). Moreover, 70% of customers would be willing to purchase more if their complaints are solved (Kumar et al, 2014). It is evident that the XYZ boutique management did not handle their customers appropriately and was unwilling to resolve complaints. Their response clearly indicated that I was just an idler in their shop with no purchase motive. Proposal for resolution The case was not resolved. It was wrong for the sales assistant to read my mind, regardless of how good she may be. Some of the qualities of a good sales assistant include patience and respect (Ryu, Lee Gon Kim, 2012). This being said, the sales assistants should be patient with their customers and respect them at the same time. The sales assistant should have let me make my purchase decision at my own pace. The response given by the manager after I launched the complaint indicated that the XYZ boutique management had no respect for its customers. It was wrong for the manager to condone the attacks made by his staff. Evidently, the store manager did not understand my point of view. It was not his job to judge my motive or willingness to purchase. He should have read the complaint keenly and identify a way to resolve the issue. Also, the employees may not have been well trained. The boutique should put some of its resources for reinforcement and training. The training should put more emphasis on the importance of being patient and respecting customers (Lemon Verhoef, 2016). Sales assistants can be effective in their jobs if they are equipped with the appropriate tools and objectives. The management should be keener on the type of personality they employ in their businesses. Business success cannot be achieved with self-centered and apathetic employees. The wrong employees should be sent packing immediately; it sends a warning message to other reckless employees (Martin, Mortimer Andrews, 2015). Tolstoy`S Confessions: What Is The Aim Of Human Life? Introduction What is the aim of human life? Tolstoy ponders this thought in his Confessions. His philosophy was that the aim was a union with God. A lack of faith was death as shown in his quote from the Confessions, as quoted by Stumpf (Elements, 549). The rational knowledge brought to me the recognition that life was meaningless, -my life stopped, and I wanted to destroy myself. When I looked around at people, at all humanity, I saw that people lived and asserted that they knew the meaning of life. I looked back at myself: I lived so long as I knew the meaning of life. As to other people, so even to me, did faith give the meaning of life and the possibility of living. But faith only gave the possibility of life, so something more is needed. The moral life, as it seemed to Tolstoy. He talks of evils and vices, and therefore the corresponding goods and virtues. In this paper, I plan to address these two things. The supreme end of man and the goods and virtues used in attaining it. To attain this goal, we need to agree upon a common understanding of the supreme end of man. An explanation of how faith affects man attaining his supreme end leads us into Gods predestination of man. Understanding this we see that faith is the key to reaching the supreme end of man. But now that we have the key we need to see what it unlocks. Faith compels us to avoid vices and therefore reach our moral end. This requires the acquiring and use of the virtues. The Supreme End In order to know the aim of human life I suppose we must know then what the supreme end of man is. The views of several philosophers on the supreme end of man have held relatively consistent over the centuries. According to Aristotle as quoted by Stumpf, happiness is that which is always desirable in itself and never for the sake of something else. (Elements, 32) He continues to say that happiness and good are synonymous. This happiness or good is the ultimate end of the human act. St. Augustine, 7 centuries later, reiterates the end of man as happiness, namely eternal life. He also continues to say that faith is the only way to find the ultimate end. (Philosophy, 90-1) St. Thomas Aquinas, eight centuries later, reaffirms God as the end of our desires. The following quote from The Pocket Aquinas, page 192 continues to explain his understanding. The act whereby we are primarily joined to Him is basically and substantially our happiness. But we are primarily united with God by an act of understanding; and therefore, the very seeing of God, which is an act of the intellect, is substantially and basically our happiness. The greatest happiness then is thinking of the ultimate being, God. This greatest happiness is a union with the Everlasting, or as St. Augustine called it, eternal life. Life in this world is less of a good than life in paradise. This is due to the fact that life in paradise is eternal and the life of a man in this world is just a brief stretch of time. Paradise is also more perfect than earth and life there is a greater good because of this. Another 1500 years later, Tolstoy in the Confessions again comes to the conclusion of an eternal paradise. He drew the conclusion from a very simple path of premises. One, you must live according to Gods law. Two, eternal torment or eternal bliss result from life. Three, the meaning that is not lost to death is the union with the infinite God. Every nation, ever since the dawn of civilization, has always had some form of government. It is of necessity rather than need, as a nation without one will always result to anarchy. Today, two of the most popular and well-known forms of government are the presidential form of government and the parliamentary form of government. Each form of government has it’s own pros and cons, and the debate of whether one is better than the other has long been a subject of discussion.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   The main difference between the two forms of government is how the extent governmental powers are distributed and/or separated between branches of the government, and whether one branch has or does not have power over another. In the presidential form of government, political and administrative powers are distinctly divided between the executive branch (the President), the legislative branch (i.e., the congress/senate), and the judiciary branch. The powers vested in the executive branch is usually balanced against those given to the legislature. Laws and bills are made by the legislature and it is the executive branch which enacts it. The President has the power to veto the bill, preventing it’s execution, but the legislature may override the President’s veto, provided they can gather enough votes to do so (â€Å"Parliamentary versus Presidential governments†). This serves as a check and balance for both branches, ensuring that one does not overpower the other.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   In the parliamentary form of government, however, there is a fusion of power between the legislative and executive branch. This is mostly due to the fact that the head of government, the Prime Minister, is voted into position by the legislature, which is often mostly composed of the ruling party or coalition. Political parties also hold less of an impact on the presidential system than on then parliamentary system since the President can still be voted in office regardless of whether his or her political party is a minority or not. Also, ethnicity, race, and ideology won’t be much of a conflicting factor, especially for a very diverse country, since power is equally divided amongst the legislators, and not just focused on one (e.g. the President). Effective Humble Inquiry process in an organization Servant leadership process is the good way to make an understanding with employees and leaders. Authentic leadership process is a simple process, and that affects the leadership reality. In that case, authentic leadership process is not applied in reality. Humble Inquiry is a book composed by Ed Schein, and through the book, a basic understanding of the servant leadership has been drawn by the author (Trong Tuan 2013). The section mostly analyzes the obvious factor of authentic view that created by the leaders and also states the opportunity that stacks up to the factor of emotional intelligence in leadership. In case of operation expectation, performances are the recognized factor that underlines the companies development in global business. In this session, leaders are appointed as they have six dimensions and all these dimensions are addressing towards the profound vision. The first aspect showcases leaders as heroes. Some of the effective qualities are filled with them, and their behavior has shown that establishment on that ground. In any case, employees are demotivated, or they get some job out of their expertise (Holloway 2012). Then, leaders come to them, understand all the probable problems, they are facing and then react over this. The main statements of symbolic heroes are represented in that way. Leaders are represented as an actor as well, and their creativity and performing art is the kind of the mannerism that is plausible and coherent as the followers thought the process as real one. In case of framing a shield to save the organization, leaders are creating an image where they develop their performance and extend the market stretch of the company (Mittal and Dorfman 2012). As a dramatic, they need to be flamboyance and confident in their actions that influence the position of the company as well as provides some opportunities for the company. Leaders need to be immoralist as they have high self-esteem which is a visionary statement for them. There are some other sub-dimensions also, and these are well constructed for the leader. Inclusive leadership sometimes has this kind of vision that is extensively pointing the changes in business and providing a boost in business culture. Leaders are power brokers as they dealing with the power and direct channel of reconciling are i mplemented by them. Knowledge, skill, time, energy all these factors are the dealing with the changing mission of the organization and directing towards the better plan or implementation (Aaker and Joachimsthaler 2012). Lastly, it can be portrayed as the leaders are the ambassadors as they are the image or the personification of human identity that people believe and trust from the core of their heart. The self-esteem, confidence, empathetic relation, bonding, and helping nature they provided in the workplace are the best way to judge them from the organizational view. Emerge form of Disturbed leadership A distributed form of leadership is not accepted by the organization. In most of the cases, the effort given by the leader is the process of maintaining the productivity of the organization. This is not an easy path though; the leader has to know the servant leadership process and the caring for their employees. In most of the cases, all the qualities are not persisted in a single leader, the problem arises from that moment, and this is the most confronting situation that faced by the leader. Engaging employees in a positive way and to formulate them for the same objective is the main responsibility of a leader. In that case, leaders education, potential learning experience and positive frame of mind are necessary. Communication is another aspect that needed to be strong as the leader has to be a good motivator or speaker so that employees will obey leaders opinion. A distributed form of leadership has missed some of the basic processes that might be missed from the leader and In cas e of an impactful leader, man management and listening from their employees is the most significant matter for the leader to control an organization. Awareness, Persuasion, and conceptualization are the three mental pillar of leadership, and if any of the aspects missing from a leader, a general leadership style and values will be disturbed. Leadership ethics and values are not achieved if the distributed form of leadership will establish. Target and objective will not meet, the turnover ratio will increase as employees are not conformable with the leader and their workplace satisfaction will hamper in that case. As mentioned by Ed Schein, all form of leadership need to commit to the growth of the employees as well. If any case, employees are not satisfied enough then persuasion and control over the organization will confront a real threat. A distributed form of leadership is the main reason behind this kind of disaster. Community building process will not be sustained during the disturbed form of leadership, and that will encourage the organization to spare in parts. Servant leadership method as mentioned by Ed. Schein is one of the possible mitigating processes that precede all the obstacles and provide a good environment for the organization. As mentioned by Ed. Schein, the leadership lesson has the opportunity to maintain the prerequisites dynamics. This is the reason leaders need to be influential but not conceited, egoistic and power relation making a person. If all these aspects arise then, it will be a worse situation for the company to work in a right form and formulate in the right manner. Conclusion Therefore, from all the discussion that the paper has presented, it can be concluded that leaders outcome and work culture in multinational companies are significant. They have to look after every aspect of workplace operations and develop an inclusive form of leadership behaviour with employees. Cross culture or the open culture enforcement in the organization is a correct form of building the nature of the organization. For the better management employees views and opinions are needed to be taken by the management. They may have some good suggestions; they may have some product innovation for the company that provides enough advancement to the company as well. Leaders have some challenges to face, and through the leadership quality, they have to mitigate those obstacles and provide a constructive outcome for the company. In case of development, productive open culture and diverse form of people and set of different mindset is important and this process diversity in the workplace wi ll sustain. Leadership process and qualities are the concern thinking in this paper, and that somehow develops the emerging level of the organization as well.
